Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). Times are tough for many of us right now, and when you have to cut expenses, one thing that often tends to get the short end of the stick is vacations. Many who often head overseas or across the country for their annual excursions are finding themselves stuck a little closer to home this year, and the concept of finding “vacation dupes” has been a hot trend all over social media lately. If you’ve been fantasizing about a trip to Italy but can’t justify the cost right now, we’ve got a great Georgia vacation dupe getaway planned for you to the wonderful town of Dahlonega. This is one of our favorite small towns in Georgia, and we’ve gotta say, it gives off some pretty fancy Italian vibes!
It's easy to see why Italy is such a top travel destination. The culture, the history, the scenery: it all combines to make this one of the spots on every traveler's bucket list.
Tuscany, pictured above, is a particularly popular area. It's in the central region of the country and contains vineyards, rolling hills, and rugged mountains.
We might not have any travel destinations quite as popular as Tuscany here in the Peach State, but Dahlonega has some pretty amazing scenery in its own right.
If you decide you want to spend more than just a day in Dahlonega, one of our favorite places to stay in the area is the Dahlonega Square Hotel and Villa.
