Michigan is home to countless natural wonders. Many of these destinations are perfect for a visit during the warmer months of the year, but when temperatures drop and the snow starts to fall, there is one spot that we absolutely love — Bond Falls. Found near Paulding and within the Ontonagon River, this natural wonder creates a frozen scene that’s inspiring. It’s picturesque, enchanting, and bucket-list-worthy.
Bond Falls may be one of our favorite natural wonders in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
During the spring and summer months, this waterfall truly shines. This natural wonder is comprised of one large waterfall and several small falls, which boast a combined drop of 50 feet.
The best place to view these falls is at the Bond Falls Scenic Site. Here, you will find easy-access parking, picnic tables, and a boardwalk. This is an excellent destination to admire these falls and the surrounding natural beauty.
Be aware that the parking lot to these falls is closed during the winter months but the boardwalk trail is open year round. However, the trail can become quite icy. Bundle up for the colder weather and wear appropriate footwear for the conditions.
