I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Welcome to the winter season! While not every part of Arizona will see snow, some places around the state will, especially in higher elevations. From Flagstaff to Greer, from Sedona to Williams, we can experience cold-weather fun! Williams is one small town in Arizona that seems to come alive under a blanket of snow, and you should make plans to visit this winter.
Nicknamed the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon," the town of Williams is found along Arizona's Historic Route 66. While you can visit any time of the year for adventure, there's something magical about this town when covered in a blanket of white.

One of the best places to visit in Williams during the winter is Canyon Coaster Adventure Park which offers a Canyon Coaster and some of the best snow tubing in Arizona. Talk about a fun family-friendly adventure!
From the warmth of your vehicle, take a safari through the park where you can spot bears, bison, and other creatures who roam freely through the property. Then park your car and take a walk through its small zoo.
Don't forget to check out Canyonlands Restaurant, Bearizona's on-site eatery with views of the jaguar habitat. The restaurant itself feels like you're in a canyon. It's incredible!
For those who want to go hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing, trails are abundant around Williams. Throughout the Williams Ranger District are trails for your winter adventures.
