South Carolina has been home for AnneMarie since 2001. Her favorite part of the state is Lake Jocassee. An App State alumna, it's always the mountains; the lake bonus makes it heavenly. When not writing about the state, she may be spending time with family, relaxing by the pool, or out somewhere enjoying nature.
As much as we love our milder winter climate, those who do enjoy certain winter activities may find themselves looking for opportunities to travel outside of the state for more options. Thankfully, you don’t have to go far, with our neighbors in North Carolina offering plenty of winter fun, such as ski resorts, a winter mountain coaster, snow tubing, and more in the tiny town of Banner Elk. But if you want to stay in-state, ice skating is one of the handful of quintessential winter activities in South Carolina!
Check the Founders Holiday Ice Rink page on the Old Town Rock Hill website or the Founders Holiday Ice Rink Facebook page for updates, hours, and cost of admission for the current season. Be sure to take a good pair of warm gloves to wear, recommended to help protect your hands from the ice if you happen to fall while skating!
Do you enjoy ice skating? What’s your favorite winter activity in South Carolina?
