There is no place better than Utah during the winter. From its ski resorts to its national parks, many winter travel destinations will make you fall in love with this time of the year. Soldier Hollow Nordic Center is one Utah winter travel destination in Midway that draws in quite a crowd and for good reason — it’s perfect for some time outdoors. It may just be one of the best places to visit during a Utah winter.

Located just above Midway at Wasatch Mountain State Park is Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. This destination may be familiar as it was a venue at the 2002 Winter Olympics.

While this destination has events and activities throughout the entire year, the winter is one of our favorite times to visit. During this chilly season, it is home to some of the best Nordic skiing in Utah.

Put on a pair of skis and explore one of Solider Hollow’s exceptional cross-country trails. The entire family can enjoy these trails and rentals are available if equipment is needed. If family members could use a little extra help, group lessons or private lessons are also available.

But cross-country skis aren’t the only way you can explore the winter wonderland at Soldier Hollow. Put on a pair of snowshoes and explore the snowshoe trail. Passes are required for both ski or snowshoe trails.

The entire family will enjoy flying down the 1,200-foot tubing hill and then being pulled back to the top via the magic carpet. This is a popular destination for snow tubing in Utah and I recommend you purchase your tickets in advance. Tubing is available in two-hour sessions.
