Imagine walking into a museum and being totally immersed in the smells, tastes, and wonder of your favorite frozen dessert! There are lots of spectacular museums within the city of Boston, but none quite this delicious. If you are a fan of ice cream (I know I am), you will definitely want to plan on visiting the city’s brand-new Museum of Ice Cream.
That’s right, the Museum of Ice Cream will be opening a local Massachusetts venue!
The yummy spot is set to break ground in the Seaport District in 2024. It will join other area attractions such as the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and the Institute of Contemporary Art.
The Museum of Ice Cream currently has locations in New York City, Chicago, Austin, and even Singapore. If you have visited any of these museums, you know that you are in for a (sweet) treat!
The museums boast more than just exhibits, they provide visitors with interactive, multi-sensory experiences. At existing locations, guests can swim in a pool of biodegradable sprinkles, ride on an animal cookie, and play a round of dessert-themed mini golf.
Without giving away all the details, I can tell you that there will be a hall of freezers, a Fenway Park carnival exhibit, and a signature sprinkle pool!
There will also be a diner where you can enjoy ice cream and frozen treats. It will overlook the marina.
And speaking of eating ice cream, did I mention that a ticket to the museum includes unlimited tasting options? That alone is worth the price of admission!
The Museum of Ice Cream is a fantastic place for “kids” of all ages to visit. It is a great spot to bring children but also a fun destination for a date night or an evening out with friends.
You can even host a birthday party or special event at the museum.
Do you plan on visiting the Museum of Ice Cream when it comes to Boston? If you have visited any of the other Museum of Ice Cream locations, please tell us all about your experience. To find out the latest information about the museum’s opening date, please visit the Museum of Ice Cream website and the Museum of Ice Cream Facebook page.
In the meantime, you can get your local frozen fix at FoMu and Frozen Hoagies. And if you just can’t wait to visit the Museum of Ice Cream, you can make a trip to its New York City location.
