If there’s any state in the U.S. that’s misunderstood, it’s definitely Ohio. Many people don’t seem to understand what we’re all about. Sometimes, we bring this upon ourselves. Other times, people genuinely just don’t even know. Here are 11 reasons why we think Ohio is the most misunderstood state in America:

1. Sometimes, we kind of ask for it.

2. People think we’re trying to flee the planet, when in actuality, we’re just trying to pave the way for mankind.

3. The sporadic “O-H"...

…which, unfortunately, isn’t always replied with an "I-O!" Understandably, this could confuse visitors. Not everyone in the U.S. knows what it’s like to ooze state pride. (Which is a real shame, actually.)
4. Spelling our state’s name with our arms even after we’ve done the above ^
