The flatirons are some of Colorado’s most impressive geologic features, and you can see them in several places across the state. One place in which they’re just absolutely jaw dropping is Littleton, which features a small grouping. A killer place to view these stunning rock formations is Arrowhead Golf Club, where the juxtaposition of the craggy, red rock contrasts beautifully with the lush, green landscape of the golf course.

Boulder is famous for them, but Littleton also features some truly amazing flatirons, and the view from Arrowhead Golf Club is stunning.

These formations consist of conglomeratic sandstone, which is a rich, red color.
These 290 million year-old rock formations are part of the Fountain Formation, which was lifted and tilted into flatirons between 35 and 80 million years ago.
