Right off the highway, on the western limits of the town, Maslowski Beach offers beautiful views of Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes. Visitors can enjoy the sandy shoreline and take in the picturesque expanse of the lake.

While Lake Superior can be a little cold during much of the year, the beach is a good place for wading. It stretches over 1,400 feet, and the water is shallow for a distance offshore. Just be careful of the rocks!

Maslowski Beach is a nice little spot on U.S. Highway 2; there are bathrooms and changing rooms, and it’s connected to a bike path that takes you right through town. There’s also a picnic area, so even if you’re just passing through, you should plan a little visit. That’s what I did recently: I enjoyed a run on the trail and finished with some delicious water.
