For the past few years, my daughter and I have taken an overnight girl’s trip to Boston. Each time we go, we try to stay in a different part of the city and explore all of the attractions that this area has to offer. This past year, we stayed in the Copley/Back Bay area. In between stops at the historic Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library’s Tea Room, we discovered a delicious hidden gem that we will certainly be returning to again and again.

A trip to Eataly is a true culinary experience. You could easily spend a whole afternoon here. My daughter and I took a great deal of time just wandering up and down the aisles and looking at all of the authentic Italian pastas, sauces, cookies, spices, olive oils, and wine.

You can also find so many fresh products at Eataly. Fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, homemade pasta, cheese, and freshly baked bread are all available for purchase.

The staff at Eataly are expertly trained and educated. They can tell you all about the various specialty products and offer advice on how to use them in dishes. You can even watch the pasta being made!

Now on to the restaurant portion of Eataly. There are actually three places to eat in the Boston store. At Terra, you can enjoy dishes made in a wood-burning grill. Menu choices include seafood, pasta, and seasonal dishes.

And then there is La Pizza & La Pasta which serves delicious Neapolitan pizza and a wide array of fresh pasta dishes with lovely Italian names like “gnocchi al pesto basilico” and “ravioli di zucca.”

Or you can choose to eat at La Piazza, which is a fun place to gather with friends to enjoy a glass of vino and share small plates, raw bar items, pasta, and meats and cheeses.
