Ahh, A1A. The beauty of this stretch of road knows no bounds. If you’re familiar with driving in Florida, then you likely have a favorite part of A1A, which is a huge north-to-south Florida State Road running over 338 miles along the Atlantic Ocean. This route is wonderfully impressive, running all the way from Key West at the southern tip of the state to Fernandina Beach, just south of Georgia on Amelia Island. And while the entire stretch is beautiful in its own right, I’m quite partial to the under-the-radar slice of the route running from Wabasso Beach north to Juan Ponce de León Landing. While it’s just shy of 20 miles in total, this scenic drive in Florida features miles and miles of rolling waves and is certainly a sight to see.
