I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
If you’re looking for an intimate setting to imbibe, you can’t get any more intimate than The Whining Pig in Phoenix. At only 450 square feet, you could go there alone and be friends with everyone else in the place by the time you leave. I happen to love the vibe of this place. It’s chill yet there’s an air of camaraderie that only comes with a tiny bar in Arizona like this one.
If you're looking for a place with a community vibe to imbibe in, look no further than The Whining Pig. What it lacks in space it certainly makes up for in its ambiance.
This place is tiny, but that only adds to the charm. Due to its small stature, you must be prepared to chat with fellow patrons and the bartender -- there's no getting around it. Who knows, maybe you'll end up with a few new friends before you leave!
The Whining Pig has an extensive menu of beer, wine, cider, mead, and hard seltzer. All available selections are written on the chalk wall on one side of the bar. The chalk wall on the opposite side is where you can draw or write messages. So fun!
Another cool aspect of this bar is its selection of card and board games. Challenge your new friends to a game. You can even bring your own which is what we've done before.
While this is a bar and not so much a restaurant, there are a few snack options available if you're feeling a bit peckish. Otherwise, this is a BYOF establishment, meaning you can bring your own food!
