The Haunted Ghost Tour In New York Is A Paranormal Experience Like No Other
Way back in 1826, the Genesee County Board of Supervisors staged a meeting to create an alms house for the poor in Bethany, New York. Thus, the Genesee County Poorhouse was incepted. The venue became a space for unwed mothers, widows, orphans, mentally challenged people, elders and, perhaps most scarily, the criminally insane. The venue went through many changes in the following century, but in 1974, it closed its doors for the final time—as a county facility, that is. The property was empty for 10 years.
Now, it is known as an infamous haunted asylum—the Rolling Hills Asylum. The spirts of its olden days lurk its halls, and, since it is now open to the public, visitors can get a taste of the 60,000 square foot venue themselves. Just be forewarned—it’s pretty scary! To learn more about what might just be the best haunted ghost tour in New York, keep reading, below.
For haunted fun in New York State, make the trip to East Bethany and check out the Rolling Hills Asylum. It’s a scary good time! While in the area, why not take the trip over to Buffalo and check out Ulrich’s Tavern, which also has quite a bit of history—it has been in operation since 1868.
