Walk the Dunnagan Trail for an exciting hike to an abandoned place in North Carolina. Located at Eno River State Park in Durham, this two-mile trail leads us right to an old cemetery. The best way in is to enter at the Continental Entrance on Continental Drive east of Umstead Road. The trail leads to a junction where you’ll cross a dry creek and step up to the next bank. A foundation to the old Dunnagan home place is on the right and the cemetery is on the left. While the moderately challenging trail has many rocks and roots, it’s not too strenuous. This trek is definitely worthwhile, especially to find so much history out in the middle of nowhere.
