It’s fall, y’all! There’s no better time to get out and explore – autumn in Georgia is an amazing season. I love getting out and discovering new adventures. As someone who hates the heat, the cooler weather alone makes this my favorite time of year. Throw in fun things like festivals and pumpkin spice lattes and I’m completely sold! I love exploring new places, especially at this time of year. Driving down back roads lined with colorful trees is such a magical experience, and there are so many wonderful small towns to explore. One of the best fall towns in Georgia is Clarkesville, located towards the northeast corner of the state. There are a surprising number of things to do in this small city. Here are a few of our favorites:
Clarkesville is the county seat of Habersham County and has a population of around 1,900. This mountainous region of the state is known for its extensive history and unique culture.
This is one of our favorite hikes in Georgia. The hike is only about two miles and the scenery is incredible. If it's an unseasonably hot day, dip your toes in the river to cool off!
