If you live in or near Massachusetts, you probably already know that Salem is the place to visit for all things spooky and scary! I can tell you from firsthand experience that Halloween night here is simply magical and so much fun. Costumed tourists fill the streets, as eerie music and foggy lighting effects pour from haunted houses and witchy attractions. A ghostly presence surrounds the area while visitors party and fireworks explode over the city sky. Halloween night in the witch city is like nowhere else!
If you have already visited the Witch House and Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery or are just looking for a unique, Halloween event, I have the perfect 21+ activity for you and your friends.
On October 31st (Halloween night), you can enjoy delicious spirits among ghosts at Salem’s fun and spooky Haunted Speakeasy Party! This amazing celebration sounds like it will be the party of the year!
The location for this year’s speakeasy is Hamilton Hall, which is within walking distance of downtown Salem. This 218-year-old building is one of the most historic and majestic buildings in the city. It is the perfect eerie location for this type of event.
Enter this landmark building and be transported back to the Roaring '20s. Prohibition-era cocktails will be flowing and professional burlesque dancers will entertain you with themed period performances.
You can’t come to Salem on Halloween night without a costume, and this party is no exception! The encouraged dress code for the haunted speakeasy is vintage 1920s attire, but other creepy and retro costumes are also acceptable.
Do you plan on attending the haunted prohibition speakeasy? If not, how will you celebrate Halloween night? For more information on this spooky event, please visit the Haunted Speakeasy event website or the Haunted Speakeasy Facebook page.
If you are looking to stay overnight in Salem, the Hawthorne Hotel is a great option. Not only is this hotel historical, but rumor has it that the building is haunted.
