Every time I walk down the streets of Boston, I notice something new. Even though I lived in the city for years and still visit often, I am forever amazed at all of the little things I have missed, even in places where I have traveled many times before. There may be a historical plaque, an interesting tree, or a beautiful view, but there is always something new to see. In recent visits to Boston, I have made an effort to slow down my pace and really stop to notice all of these small wonders that make our capital city so unique and special. And my favorite way to do so is by taking a leisurely urban hike. Boston is a wonderfully walkable city with so many beautiful paths to take. The top-rated Charles River Pathway Short Loop is one not to be missed!
Have you walked the Charles River Pathway Short Loop? Is there anything that particularly caught your eye along the way? More information on this hike can be found on Alltrails.
If you enjoyed this urban walk and are looking for more great city hikes, I suggest taking the Boston City Walking Trail and the path at the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Other fantastic Massachusetts hikes can be found on our list of the best hikes in Massachusetts. If you are planning to stay overnight in the city, the Copley Square Hotel is a fantastic option that is close to the Charles River Esplanade.
