While I could list many of these destinations that are worthy of a spot on your bucket list, one small town is quite remote but is the perfect place to get away from it all. This small town is Colfax.
Located in eastern Washington, just north of Pullman, is Colfax. This is one town you may overlook when searching for the perfect getaway destination, but it is one that deserves a second look.
This town is home to approximately 3,000 individuals. It’s a place where history, nature, and community all come together to create one delightful area.
I particularly love that this town is tucked away in the Palouse Region. This means you will enjoy breathtaking and unique scenery regardless of the time of year that you visit.
This historical site is now a museum where you can learn more about the area and some of the people who called it home decades ago.
Outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those who just want to enjoy some of the unique landscapes in the area should check out Steptoe Butte State Park.
This unique state park in Washington is located just north of Colfax and is home to a remarkable quartzite bluff. The butte is believed to contain some of the oldest rock in the Pacific Northwest.
Even foodies will find something to love in Colfax with restaurants such as Zip’s Drive In.
Located right on Main Street, this restaurant has made a name for itself in the Evergreen State. Plus, it is where you will find delicious burgers, sandwiches, and shakes. I suggest you try one of the cream pie shakes — delicious!
