If you’re looking for a perfect date night or outing with your friends or family, and if you love seeing live music, then we’ve found the perfect idea for you. You should try a Sofar Sounds experience in Denver, Colorado! Sofar Sounds is a music events company that offers small performances in unique venues in 400 cities around the globe. Although you must purchase tickets in advance, you won’t know where the event actually is until a few days before, and you won’t know who is performing until you arrive. However, the secretive aspect of Sofar Sounds events is what makes them so fun! I had the opportunity to attend my first Sofar Sounds in Denver recently, and it certainly won’t be my last. The venue was great, the performers were talented and captivating, and the vibe, overall, was exceptional.
Sofar Sounds is a unique experience for music lovers. The website offers little information about the events. It will tell you what neighborhood it's in, whether it's indoors or outdoors, and if it's in a commercial space or at a private residence.

Sometimes it will tell you the genre of music to expect, but not usually.
When I attended my first Sofar Sounds experience, we had a little trouble finding the place at first. All I knew was that I was going to see some acoustic performers.

The bar where the event was held is called Blind Tiger by Hooch Booch in the RiNo neighborhood of Denver.

I'd never heard of it before; turns out, it was new and not yet open to the general public yet.

This bar was small, lovely, and different. It had a lot of notable decor touches.

I loved this neon tiger.

The space was more like someone's rumpus room than a bar or music venue, but that was what was great about it. There was a bar in the back and plenty of bartenders to serve everyone.

All of the attendees found spots on comfortable furniture or on the floor.
It was pretty full when we got there - there were about 50 people in attendance - so we found a spot in the upper loft.

The view from up there was still quite good. When the musicians started playing, it sounded great in there, too.

The first performer was a woman named Ali Holder from Austin, Texas. She told some funny stories between songs but when she sang - her voice was incredible.
Each performer played for about 20 to 30 minutes, and there was a 10-minute break between performers.
Next up was Kyle Warner. This gentleman is a Denver local and was also very talented. His music was rather Southern-influenced, and I really enjoyed his performance.

The final performer of the evening was Ryan Meal. I was super impressed by his voice, playing, and overall stage presence. He's Nashville-based and was on the musical version of the show The Bachelor. He played several originals and covers and even got the audience to sing along on some tunes.

Of course, the emcee reminded everyone to check out these performers online and to give them follows on social media. I did, of course! I look forward to supporting all three of these people and seeing where their careers take them.
