Nothing announces the arrival of fall quite like a visit to a local pumpkin patch. And here in Kentucky, we’re blessed with an abundance of gorgeous pumpkin patches to visit. One of our favorites just so happens to be one of the biggest in the state, and year after year, it attracts families from all over the Bluegrass. If you haven’t guessed already, we’re talking about Eckert’s in Versailles Orchard. Ready to explore one of the largest pumpkin patches in Kentucky? Put on your coziest flannel shirt and let’s go!
Eckert's is a well-known farm around this region of the U.S., but we're partial to the location in Versailles Orchard, Kentucky.
The motto here is "Turn screen time into green time," and that sets the stage perfectly for what you and your family can expect from a trip to this family-friendly orchard in Kentucky.
Seasonal fruit is available for picking throughout the year, and come autumn, pumpkins are the star of the show! Typically, pumpkins are available for picking in late September. Be sure to check out the official Eckert's website for updates on availability.
Pumpkins are available to purchase directly from the farm shop, or you can pick your own! You'll want to cut then with good, strong clippers, leaving about 4 inches of stem. And remember to always carry pumpkins from the bottom!
So whether you're looking for some prize pumpkins to take home or simply love the idea of spending the day on the farm with your family, you'll be so glad you stopped by one of the biggest pumpkin patches in Kentucky.
