Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Let’s get one thing straight: If there’s anyone in the United States who understands the definition of the word “frigid,” it’s those of us located in the northeastern U.S. And it really does get quite cold – often, statewide high temperatures don’t even reach freezing, choosing to hover around 25 degrees in the warmest, southernmost portions of the state. In the north, we’re lucky see 15 degrees as a high on some days (especially in January). So, what are the 2023-2024 winter predictions for Maine? What do we have in store? While it’s never truly possible to forecast accurately beyond, say, about 72 hours, the Farmers’ Almanac uses its own formulas to figure out what might just transpire this season.
For more information about how exactly they come up with these forecasts, be sure to visit the official Farmers’ Almanac website. Need to stay warm out there? Obviously! Our friends at LL Bean offer up some of the world’s best cold-weather gear!
