This particular tavern in Cajun Country has been a local watering hole for decades, and they have some of the best burgers in Louisiana. If you’re in the mood to feast on one of these legendary burgers, make your way over to one of their two locations and dig in.
The story of Morvant’s dates all the way back to 1927.
When it first opened, the humble eatery served one thing: burgers with a side of chips. While ownership has changed hands over the years, one thing remains the same: the burger recipe. More on that in a minute!
Morvant’s is a no-frills, all-flavors type of joint.
It’s that family-friendly, come-as-you-are atmosphere that has kept locals coming back for decades, and once you try it, you’ll be a member of the club.

During crawfish season (mid-January to early July), Morvant’s is packed with delicious mud bugs and all the fixings.
A good shrimp po’boy is hard to pass up, but if you’re wanting something on the lighter side, the shrimp salad is a great meal! You can get your shrimp fried or grilled.
But one year-round menu staple that just takes the gold here is the burgers.
