This may sound like a bit of a hyper-specific event that wouldn’t appeal to everyone, but its a great family-friendly outing in New London, CT that’s the perfect way to spend a weekend. This year’s Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival in New London, CT is scheduled for September 9-10, 2023. The festival is organized by OpSail Connecticut, Inc., a non-profit that works to spread a passion for maritime industries. There are so many fun events going on at this festival that are great whether you’re already well-informed about the world of boating or if you have no knowledge at all. Check it out:

The Port of New London is the perfect spot for the Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival. New London was actually the first official port of Connecticut, established back in 1784. It was an important trading hub for the New England area.
