Snow Canyon State Park is a park in southern Utah that I can’t recommend enough. Not only is this state park absolutely beautiful, but it is home to some incredible hiking trails. One of these is the Jenny’s Canyon Trail. This is a short trail that is family-friendly and takes you to a small slot canyon and overlook — it’s breathtaking. If you find yourself in southern Utah, this is one hiking trail that you just can’t beat.
You will want to bring your entire family on the Jenny’s Canyon Trail. At less than 0.5 miles round trip, this out-and-back trail in Snow Canyon State Park is one that is easy, short, and certainly scenic.
The trail itself is made of soft sand and rocks. It is also quite wide, making it easy to walk on. Even better, there is very little incline, so you can focus on the views rather than a steep climb.
After the trailhead, you will head toward trees and rock cliffs. You will eventually come to a T-intersection near the cliffs where you can choose left or right. If you choose left, you will venture to a small, yet beautiful slot canyon.
Spend some time exploring this slot canyon. The erosion on the canyon walls creates a unique sight and the tall walls make you feel tucked away from the world.
This trail closes seasonally from mid-March until early June due to endangered habitats in the area.
Jenny’s Canyon Trail in Snow Canyon State Park is one that you just can’t beat. With a slot canyon and overlook, this trail is one your family will be begging to explore over and over again.
