I love writing, art, sunshine, all animals and my incredibly patient husband, who tolerates my "crazy animal lady" side.
When it comes to a one-of-a-kind restaurant in Kentucky, the Olde Bus Station fits the bill and has been around for decades. It doesn’t have weird foods or a shiny new interior… In fact, you will find everything to be quite vintage in style, which adds to the ambiance of the environment. This traditional southern fare restaurant will provide you a one of a kind experience and meal. Why?
Here are eight things that make Old Bus Station a one of a kind restaurant in Kentucky:
The Olde Bus Station got great reviews in Road Stop Eats. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The prices are affordable for the average budget, as this is a family-style place. The locals have been coming here for decades, which means there is something worth coming to.
The Old Bus Station is renowned for their homemade banana ice cream. Most of us love homemade ice cream in general, but their banana has been a favorite for decades. They haven’t changed the recipe.
You’d swear they have a garden behind the bus station where they pick it fresh for every plate. The green beans, corn, and slaw are all fresh and delicious, like something you’d expect if you grew up on a farm.
The fried chicken and tenders have some of the most flavorful breading you have ever tasted. The Colonel doesn’t have anything on the Olde Bus Station when it comes to breading recipes. The chicken is tender, never tough, and has the perfect amount of juiciness without being greasy.
From Yelp to Trip Advisor, patrons deem the Olde Bus Station burgers to be phenomenal. The Titan Burger is a local favorite, stacked with lettuce, bacon, cheese and thick patties cooked to order. The Big Daddy Burger is another mouthwatering house special. Mind you, their steaks, chops and ribs are the route to take if you are not in a burger mood. The seasoning is amazing.
The Old Bus Station is a historic landmark and a local favorite. You might not find a bus station charming, but this is an exception to that rule. The Station has kept the original structure with modifications. Overall, it was re-created into a more comfortable and homey type of atmosphere.
This historic venue was originally an old bus station, as the name suggests. Instead of leaving it vacant or tearing down the venue when its purpose ended, creating a traditional Southern restaurant seemed a better choice. Black and white pictures of the building in its previous glory hang on the wall in memory.
