I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
If you love wine, did you know that the Grand Canyon State has its very own wine country? It’s true! Something tells me it’s time for a road trip to the southeast part of the state. This is where you’ll find Willcox, a small town that’s home to 14 exceptional wine-tasting rooms. Willcox is in wine country in Arizona and it’s the perfect place for a weekend getaway.
Willcox is one of those towns that probably doesn't cross your mind to visit, but it really should! With its small-town feel, friendly residents, and sense of community, it's a wonderful place to visit.
Not only will you find a charming downtown area but also several vineyards and tasting rooms around town. There are 14 tasting rooms in total and you'll want to spend a few days here in order to try them all!
Willcox is also the largest producer of wine grapes in the state at 74%.

Another vineyard, Zarpara Vineyard, has a tasting room that's open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Located at the foot of the Dos Cabezas Mountains, you can enjoy spectacular views as you sip on European-style wines. Sit and relax or take a stroll through the vines. Either way, you'll love it here!

Located on Railview Avenue, Aridus Wine Company mixes it up with weekly wine-tasting flights. Whether a white wine, red wine, or mixed wine flight, the choice is yours. Aridus's winery is located a mile away on Haskell Avenue in a former apple warehouse, and they also have a tasting room in Scottsdale.
Head into the historic district of downtown Willcox and partake in a wine tasting at Golden Rule Vineyards. Offering estate-produced wine, try a few and purchase a bottle (or more) to take home.
In addition to the vineyards and tasting rooms, twice a year, in May and October, the Willcox Wine Country Festival is held along Railroad Ave. Any wine connoisseur will love this event. Not only will you be able to enjoy tastings from numerous Arizona wineries but live music, food, and more. It's also a great way to experience the charming town of Willcox!
