Chattahoochee National Forest. Quite a mouthful to pronounce. Quite an eyeful when you visit. This National Forest spans across 18 counties in North Georgia, and covers almost 750,000 acres. There are literally hundreds of waterfalls throughout the forest, not to mention an incredible array of flora and fauna just waiting to be explored. Chattahoochee National Forest is one of the most majestic parts of our great state of Georgia, and you certainly haven’t lived until you experienced it.
There are over 450 miles of trails, more than 1,600 miles of “road,” and 2,200 miles of rivers and streams within the boundaries of the forest. Not to mention a ton of recreational activities from hiking, to camping, to fishing, canoeing, kayaking, even sliding down a few waterfalls! It’s a great place to adventure each and every summer, and it’s practically right in your own backyard.
