1. Silver Lake Park, Dover
Silver Lake in Dover is one of the nicest urban parks in Delaware. Take a stroll around the grounds, set up a picnic, or enjoy the beauty of the lake itself after exploring historic downtown Dover.

2. C&D Canal Trail, St. George
The Chesapeake & Delaware Canal is well known as the dividing line between northern and southern Delaware, but there is more to it than that! You can hike the beautiful Michael Castle trail starting at Biddle Point in St. George for spectacular views that will take your breath away. The trailhead is on Cox Road between Rt 9 & Rt 13.
3. Fort Delaware, Delaware City
You can visit the island where Fort Delaware still stands vis ferry from 45 Clinton Street in Delaware City. Take an afternoon to explore all of what the Fort has to offer, including a glimpse into the history of harbor defense. This is a great summer day trip for the entire family.
4. Historic New Castle
Downtown New Castle is filled with beautiful historic buildings that are open for tours and lovely to look at! Enjoy this incredible piece of Delaware history every time you step into Old New Castle.
5. Painted Stave Distilling, Smyrna
Painted Stave Distilling specializes in premium spirits that are made in small batches, meaning that every trip you make to the distillery will give you the chance to try something new. Their tours are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday and cost $10, including a signature cocktail and a tasting of their spirits. Individual tasting experiences are available, too.

8. Glasgow Park, Newark
Beautiful Glasgow Park is a great place in Delaware to visit during the summer. You'll find it right at the intersection of S. College Ave and Pulaski Highway. The playgrounds are great for children, and the walking paths provide scenic views for anyone else wandering the park. It's one of the nicest urban parks in Delaware.
9. Killen's Pond State Park Water Park, Felton
Killen's Pond's waterpark is one of the best deals in Delaware. For just $4 or $5 depending on the day you go, you can enjoy cooling off in a beautiful state park. Play in the water park and then enjoy the rest of the park, which is great for hiking around to dry off! 5025 Killen's Pond Rd, Felton
