Summer in Missouri means we’re busier than ever. From soaking up every sweet moment – and goody – at our favorite local festivals to floating down a natural lazy river, we work hard to make every summer moment count. Even if your calendar is already starting to fill up, make sure you carve out some time to check out a few – or all – of these epic summer events at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon, Missouri.
July at Bennett Spring State Park kicks off with a journey along the Natural Tunnel Trail for the Life Under Rocks event. The fun gets underway at 10 a.m. and should last about two hours.
You'll be going on a scenic hike, so wear comfy shoes and dress for the weather.
Led by a naturalist, the hike will take you past breathtaking natural beauty, including a spring and wildflowers, as you learn about the lives of flies and invertebrates. Use the provided nets and containers to search for some of them, too.
Because of water crossings, you’re likely to get wet. Be sure to wear water shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting wet.

Reconnect with nature during the Ecotherapy: Deep Breathing event, part of a once-monthly series that runs through September. Set for July 21, the 90-minute event begins at 11 a.m.
Participate in green therapy as you stroll along the two-mile Whistle Trail. Be prepared for a bit of climbing on this scenic trail that will take you to bluff tops and along the Niangua River.
Hikers are encouraged to wear close-toed shoes and to bring water and snacks. Be sure to wear insect repellant and sunscreen, too.
If you’re a night owl or are simply fascinated by the creatures of the night, mark your calendar for Beauty of the Night, set for July 22 from 9 to 10 p.m.
