This Hidden Swimming Hole With A Waterfall In New Hampshire Is A Stellar Summer Adventure
Summer in New Hampshire means it’s time to seek out places to cool off from the heat. Fortunately, there is no shortage of ponds, lakes, and rivers that flow through the state. Many of these rivers also feature some of the most beautiful waterfalls in New England, which are perfect spots for beating the heat. Along the Ammonoosuc River lies one small cascade and pool that is one of the best NH swimming holes.
To reach Lower Ammonoosuc Falls, take Old Cherry Mountain Rd. off US Route 302 in Carroll and then immediately turn west onto an access road to the parking at a gate.
One of my absolute favorite things to do is to hike alongside water features like ponds and brooks, and to visit waterfalls. Here are ten great waterfalls that are easy to get to and one hiking trail that has five separate waterfalls along the way.
