Are you familiar with the Williamson River in Oregon? Oregon is full of rivers and this one does not get the credit or fame that it deserves. It’s about 100 miles long and it provides over half of the water inflow to giant Klamath Lake. On its way to Klamath Lake, it passes through the town of Chiloquin, a town of about 800 people. Chiloquin is a pleasant small town to visit on a summer day and is a perfect place to stop when exploring this area. The Williamson River winds its way through the area surrounding the small town of Chiloquin. Although this small town is not far from Crater Lake, few people visit it, but it's a great place to spend a summer day.
Currently, it serves breakfast five days a week but check online for hours.

If you arrive a bit later, you might stop at The TP in Chiloquin for lunch or dinner. This spot is known for its very large and tasty burgers - especially the Hippo Burger and the Bigfoot Burger.
It's the world's largest model railroad with over 35 MILES of 7.5 gauge track on 2,200 acres.
This is supposed to be an outdoor adventure, but if you want to stop at the Kla-Mo-Ya Casino to try your luck for a little while, we won't tell anyone.
You might also want to stop at Henzel Park while you're in Chiloquin. It's on the shores of Klamath Lake. You can enjoy the views while contemplating the fact that half of all the water you see flowed down the Williamson River!
And, if you head over to the other side of Klamath Lake, you can visit the Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge. That's Mount McLoughlin in the background.
Chiloquin and the Williamson River are both fantastic destinations for a day trip at the peak of the summer. You’ll love this quiet, serene, laidback part of Oregon and you’ll wonder why you never visited it before. One thing’s for sure, though – once you visit once, you’ll likely want to go back again.
