Blandy Experimental Farm Is Home To A Ginkgo Grove in Virginia

The Blandy Experimental Farm is made up of 700 beautiful acres in the northern Shenandoah Valley. It’s home to the State Arboretum of Virginia and is operated by the University of Virginia. It’s also home to what might just be the state’s best-hidden treasure: a massive Ginkgo grove. Beautiful any time of the year, the grove is positively resplendent in the autumn. No matter what month you’re able to go, a visit to this unique natural wonder is one you won’t soon forget.

Located in Boyse, Virginia, the Blandy Experimental Farm is a research field station for the University of Virginia.

Some of the highlights of the arboretum itself include the Virginia Native Plant Trail, North America's largest collection of boxwood cultivars, and an entire third of the world's pine species.

If you're enthusiastic about plants, shrubs, and trees, it's hard to imagine a more exciting place to spend the day! It's also a beautiful, peaceful place for a reflective walk or stroll with a loved one.

And perhaps the most impressive feature of all is the giant Ginkgo grove!

This impressive forest covers 3 acres and includes over 300 beautiful trees. As you can imagine, it's absolutely breathtaking in the fall.

Each year, Blandy Experimental Farm hosts a GinkgoFest where visitors are invited to admire these golden trees.

In fact, it's America's largest public Ginkgo grove, and it's right here in Virginia!
