The U.S. Army Aviation Museum, which opened to the public in 1968, has a very large helicopter collection. In fact, it's the largest collection of helicopters of any museum in the world.
Even though most of the helicopters and airplanes can only be viewed and appreciated from the outside, there are several that the museum will allow you to step inside to get a closer look.
