Located just outside of Coeur d’Alene and near Interstate 90 is one beautiful and mesmerizing mountain hike — the Fourth of July Summit Loop. This forest hike in Idaho is perfect for a day adventure as it checks off all the boxes —  a loop route, plenty of shade, a bit of an incline, and mountain and forest views that are like heaven on earth. You will find the trailhead off Interstate 90 at the Fourth of July Pass Park N’ Ski area.
The Fourth of July Summit Loop is a 6.4-mile loop trail. It will take you a few hours to complete but it’s not too overwhelming.

This trail is a bit unique because it is open year-round and during the winter months, it transforms into a cross-country skiing and snowshoe area.
