Stereotypes aren’t always bad – after all, they often exist for a reason. There are plenty of stereotypes about Georgia that are false and sometimes even offensive, but there are also some that are true. We’ve gathered up some of the most noteworthy stereotypes about Georgians that are actually pretty relatable. How many of these apply to you?
1. College football is practically a religion... and the Dawgs are the best when it comes to football.
Sure, you might occasionally meet a fan of Georgia Tech or even Georgia Southern, but the Dawgs rule at football. Just check out those four National Championship titles we have! There's nothing better than a Saturday in the fall spent between the hedges of Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia.
2. Tea should be iced and sweet.
If you order tea at a restaurant in Georgia, it's not even a given that the waiter will ask you "sweet or unsweet?," especially if you're down in the southern part of the state. "Tea" is practically synonymous with the sweet, iced delicacy.

3. Every soft drink is a "coke." Not "pop" or "soda."
You won't hear us engaged in the "soda vs. pop" debate that can sometimes grip other portions of the country. We keep it simple and have the tendency to call any carbonated beverage "coke." Admittedly, this can get a little confusing at times.

4. While we're on the subject of Coke, we've got to say: Coca-Cola is better than Pepsi.
Maybe we're a bit biased since Coca-Cola was invented in Georgia, but we don't need a taste test to know that it's the superior product!
5. It's not "Hot-lanta."
There's no quicker way to know that someone is not from here than to hear them call the capital city "Hotlanta." Just don't.
6. We've got the best food.
This one may be more of an opinion than a fact, but you really can't beat our biscuits, fried chicken, shrimp and grits, or collard greens.
7. We have the most breathtaking scenery.
And also a huge variety of it! Within a three to four hour drive, you can go from the peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the sandy beaches of the shoreline. There's nothing like the natural beauty in Georgia, no matter what part of the state you're in.
