In a survey of over 5,000 people who live in the U.S., there is one state that came out on top. Without further ado, topping the list of best states to live in is California!

So, why California, you may be asking? To many, its mild winters, exquisite beaches, and national parks are incredibly desirable attributes.

Home to nine national parks including Yosemite, Death Valley, and Joshua Tree, the possibilities for exploration are seemingly endless in the Golden State. This state offers so much beauty and opportunities for outdoor recreation -- who wouldn't want that?

So, how about the other top contenders for the most loved states in the country? As we know, California is considered the most desirable followed by Colorado, Florida, Washington, and New York.
