I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Kentucky’s history is vast and fascinating, and the story of the Bluegrass begins much, much earlier than its statehood. For 10,000 years, Indigenous people have called the Cumberland Plateau home, and their story is one worth hearing — and celebrating. This is the mission of American Indian Heritage Weekend, a three-day festival at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park celebrating the history, culture, and wisdom of Kentucky’s first residents.
For more information on American Indian Heritage Weekend, please visit the Kentucky State Parks website. This event is free and open to the public, and we encourage you to come and join the festivities!

Of course, we never need a reason to visit Cumberland Falls State Resort Park… it’s one of our favorite of all the Kentucky State Parks!
