Just north of the Rodeo Lagoon stands a tiny piece of World War II history. Fort Cronckhite was originally built to house the military who stood guard on the marina headlands and awaited the enemy. The enemy never came and it now houses the National Park Service. But you can still stop by and check it out.

In between Ft. Bragg and Mendocino lies this gem. Jug Handle is sometimes used as one word and is named after Jug Handle creek off of Hwy 1.
In El Dorado County lies a lovely little suspension bridge. It hangs above the south fork of the American River. The white painted wood reminds us of something out of a Thomas Kinkade painting. Oh, that's right -- because Thomas Kinkade, the painter of light, grew up here.
Yes, here we are in Muir Woods - again. This lovely wooden oasis takes our breath away. Plus, it gives us LOTS of boardwalks to meander through and appreciate a tiny slice of nature.
