It’s a state park, but it’s no ordinary state park. A visit to Rock Island requires a bit of an expedition, including two ferry rides. But it’s a wild and remarkable place and there are some mysterious rock carvings along the shore that can be reached via a hiking trail. Here’s what’s waiting for you on the island.
