Not only is this century-old hotel in the former mining town rife with ghost stories, but it also boasts a rich history that is nothing short of fascinating. Bisbee may be eclectic and artsy nowadays, but in the past, it was a quintessential Wild West mining town rife with hardship and sacrifice.

The town was home to one of the most lucrative mining operations in the country, bringing in over $6 million before the mines shuttered for good in 1975. Copper was the primary metal that was excavated...

...and it's the namesake of the Copper Queen Hotel. This Victorian beauty was built in 1902 to provide dignitaries, investors, and mining executives with a nice place to stay while they were in town on business.

While the hotel has undergone renovations to adapt to the changing times, its historic charm and timeless elegance have not been even the least bit compromised.

Upon stepping inside, you'll immediately be whisked back in time to a bygone era. Antiques and old photographs fill the lobby and hallways, allowing guests to experience what Bisbee was like during its heyday.

The hotel has been recently remodeled to include modern amenities such as A/C and heat, tea and coffee, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and more.

What's a historic hotel without a few ghost stories? Considering how little the Copper Queen's structure and layout have changed - the restaurant and saloon are still in their original locations, for example - it only makes sense that resident ghosts would have a hard time leaving.

Rooms 401, 315, and 412 are the most notoriously haunted spots in the hotel, home to (in respective order) an older gentleman in a top hat, a heartbroken woman who committed suicide, and a young boy who drowned in the San Pedro River.
