This Footage Shows Unbelievable Views Of The Twin Tornadoes of 2014
On June 16, 2014, terror struck Nebraska as a monster storm system raged through part of the state. By the time the storm was over, it would claim two lives, injure more than 20 people, cause millions of dollars in damages, and nearly level the town of Pilger. The storm was particularly notable because it produced two simultaneous tornadoes on the ground very close to one another, both being of the incredibly destructive EF4 classification. This amazing video shows the raw deadly power of these storms as well as their peculiar type of wicked beauty.
A total of four EF4 tornadoes touched down in and around Stanton, Wakefield, and Pilger on June 16. Livestock was killed, homes were picked up off of their foundations and flung through the air, cars were thrown, and buildings were partially or completely leveled by the storms. The towns were left picking up the pieces for months.
