Thanks to our mining and railroad history, Colorado is a truly fascinating place to be. With all of these historical places, however, come creepy legends and hauntings around every corner. One of the most haunted places in Colorado is the small mountain town of Salida, which may look innocent enough at first glance but is teeming with the paranormal, which can be seen via this eerie ghost hunt:
Taking place year-round is the Ghost and Murder Tour, one of the highest-rated ghost tours in the state.
Featuring a whopping 21 stories packed into a fast-paced hour and a half, the Ghost and Murder Tour will transport you back to some of the town's darkest days, including that of Salida's infamous red light district and all of the crimes that occurred in this once colorful area.
The hauntings don't end along this street; in fact, that's only where they begin, as Salida is also home to the site of a brutal lynching and boasts one of its original mortuaries said to be teeming with the paranormal.
Keep your eyes peeled on the tour, as you may even see either (or both!) the notorious lady in white peering out of a window or the ghost of a madam inside an old brothel.
While this sounds like folklore, everything on the tour is factually based, making the stories of these restless spirits even eerier.
As per Salida Walking Tours, "As spirits have been noted to follow guests home, we can not be responsible for demonic possessions."
You've been warned.
