I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Red River Gorge is revered for its outdoor recreation and scenic accommodations, but its dining options are admittedly limited. Of course, we’re not complaining, as this area is naturally beautiful and wonderfully undeveloped, but it can make mealtime a bit tricky. It’s not impossible to find great restaurants in Red River Gorge, though, and when you do discover a standout spot, that’s certainly a win worth sharing. Sky Bridge Station is one such place; a hidden gem cafe in the heart of Red River Gorge in Kentucky.
After a day spent hiking the trails of Red River Gorge, most of us crave nothing more than a hearty, home-cooked meal.
Happily, this is the kind of fare Sky Bridge Station specializes in. This unassuming cafe is one of the few restaurants *in* Red River Gorge, and unlike others, it's open year-round.
Views and vibes aside, the menu at Sky Bridge Station is a mix of American pub grub and diner classics. Think burgers, quesadillas, chili, and barbecue.
Really, pretty much everything on the menu is downright delicious, especially when paired with a cold beer. You've earned it! Of course, nothing mandates that you must dine at Sky Bridge post RRG exploits; the brunch plates here are truly next-level! Check hours before you go, however, as the earliest this cafe opens is typically noon.
