Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). Though Quitman is the county seat of Brooks County, it’s a relatively tiny city, with a total square area of about four miles and a population of just over 4,000. It’s located right along the border with Florida, in an area of the state that’s pretty rural. You’ll find a lot of charming little towns and farmland in this part of the Peach State, but it’s not typically thought of as having a lot going on. There’s actually a surprising amount to do down in Georgia’s lowest portions, and Quitman is a wonderful town to check out. One attraction here is a delightfully delicious small town staple that’s full of great food and Southern charm: the Royal Cafe of Quitman.
