Should you just so happen to be in the northern part of the state – or if you’re totally cool with getting there ASAP – you ought to try out this awesome little brewery trail! You read that right: the northern Indiana brewery trail is an official way to check out local breweries and support small businesses while you’re at it. Here’s how it works: you visit each brewery, get a stamp, and then get cool stuff. We’ll cover the first five Indiana breweries on the trail, but after that, it’s up to you to find the rest. We promise you’re in for a delicious time!
Here, you'll find a healthy list of rotating brews on tap, all of which are worthy of a sip. Perhaps even better still, the menu here is to die for, so when you come to 2Toms, you're in for a real treat. Up next is another true local gem that's just minutes away from 2Toms: the Hop River Brewing Company.
From the first time you enter to the moment you must leave (sad times, but there are more excellent places to see!), you'll find yourself immersed in the warm, friendly, and modern atmosphere that seems to permeate every corner of the room. This wonderful little Indiana brewery is everything that's right with the world, and we think you'll agree.
This one's unique for numerous reasons, one of which being that it's located within an early 20th-century service station. Learn all about the brews and enjoy every one to the last drop; you'll find both modern and traditional style beers in these here walls. Auburn Brewing is perfect for those who love good brews, good conversation, and learning a little something along the way.
The fourth brewery listed on the official northern Indiana brewery trail is the well-known local favorite, Iechyd Da Brewing Company.
This one has the honor of being Elkhart's first - and therefore oldest - local brewery. Here, you'll find more than just excellent, hand-crafted beers; you'll also find delicious food, an excellent atmosphere, and so much more. Oh, and by the way: it's pronounced Yah-key-Dah, if you were wondering, and it might be our favorite stop on the northern Indiana beer trail.
The fifth and final brewery we'll list here is the wonderful Bare Hands Brewery, in Granger.
Okay, maybe THIS is our favorite stop so far (but let's be real, we're gonna say that for every stop). Established in 2011, this brewery features 10 rotating taps available for sampling, and when we say it has a cult following, we mean it. This is one of the most unique Indiana breweries and we think you'll love it as much as we do.
Other Indiana breweries on the list include gems like Junk Ditch Brewing Company (Fort Wayne), Birdboy Brewing Company (Fort Wayne), Chapman’s Brewing Co. (Angola), and LaOtto Brewing (LaOtto). Of course, these are just a few of the many breweries that make up the fun and tasty northern Indiana brewery trail, and we think you’ll definitely need to pay a visit to each one on the list to fully experience the joys of Indiana brews.
