A north drive north of Milwaukee will take you to another world. Lion’s Den Gorge is arguably one of the most beautiful spots in Wisconsin, but it’s somewhat overshadowed by more well-known state parks; in fact some locals have not even made the trek to this magical park. Here’s what you need to know about this special park.
Lion’s Den Gorge was actually named after an animal that escaped from the Milwaukee County Zoo and spent several nights in the area. After leaving the gorge, make plans to visit Port Washington – it’s the perfect day trip destination.
