These 14 Terrifying Places In Kentucky Will Haunt Your Dreams Tonight

With ample farm land and plenty of historical hotels with questionable pasts, it’s no wonder Kentucky has some scary places surrounding it’s beauty. A lot of history and filmed ghost television crew stories later, see for yourself just what Kentucky has to offer on the haunted front.

1. Waverly Hills Sanatorium: This former TB hospital located in Louisville, KY is known as "one of the most haunted places in America," rightfully so. Enter if you dare, tours scheduled daily for this popular place.

2. Bobby Mackey's Music World: This night club, still open today was once a slaughterhouse. Customers can take a tour of the erie basement and take the "steps to nowhere."

3. Mammoth Cave: Diving in under the earth in a dark strange place can attest to some paranormal activity, cave dwellers and park rangers have expressed such notions.

4. Cave Hill National Cemetery: It's the largest cemetery in Louisville by area and number of burials, need I say more?

5. Jailer's Inn Bed & Breakfast in Bardstown: It was the oldest operating jail complex in Kentucky and housed some of the most violent criminals in it's upstairs dungeon.

6. The Seelbach Hilton: This elegant Louisville hotel is famous for multiple early hotel patron suicides that just keep making reappearances.

7. The Brown Hotel: Another fancy place to stay in Louisville, original owner and founder, John Graham still makes appearances from time to time. The elevator frequently stops on the 15th floor where he used to reside and footsteps and moving furniture have also been reported.

8. Sleepy Hollow Road: Located near Prospect and Louisville is home to the old tale of a black horse appearing and running off a driver who crashes into a ravine below. The ancient "Crybaby Bridge" nearby is where cries and screams have been reported from a women tossing her unwanted sick kids overboard in the early 1970s and 80s.

9. Perryville Battlefield: Around 7,600 were killed or wounded in the largest Civil War battlefield fought here on October 8, 1862 so it's no wonder the field is heavily active with ghostly activity.

10. Big Bone State Historic Site: This park even offers classes on real ghost hunting and gives you the opportunity to experience it first-hand at their grounds in Union, Kentucky.

11. The Dupont Mansion: This Victorian style mansion housed wealthy industrial brothers, Biederman and Alfred DuPont. Alfred's mistress became pregnant in 1893, he tried to send her away but she shot and killed him. He's reportedly been seen wearing a tux with bullet holes in his chest haunting since then.

12. Henry Clay Estate: Lexington, Kentucky estate is haunted by the man himself, often making appearances on the property.

13. Gates of Hell- Grandview Cemetery "Kasey's Cemetery": Custer, Kentucky is home to what's known as the "Gates of Hell" …do you really need to know anything else?

14. Narrows Road- Located in Erlanger, Kentucky, this stretch of road is said to be haunted by an old cop who was hit and killed by a car at a traffic stop in the 1950s and used to pull drivers over late at night.
