It's home to thousands of pitcher plants, which happen to be carnivorous plants. Because they're this type of plant, they digest a variety of insects and other small creatures for nutrients. In fact, they're very similar to a Venus flytrap.
Now that it's fall, you'll also probably come across a variety of wildflowers during your visit. These are hosts to many types of butterflies.
To explore Weeks Bay Pitcher Plant Bog, you'll take a stroll along the Kurt G. Wintermeyer Trail. This 0.8-mile, out-and-back boardwalk, which is also wheelchair accessible, is one of Alabama's most peaceful trails.
At the end of the trail, you'll arrive at Fish River. Here, you can rest under the gazebo and enjoy all of the beautiful surrounding scenery. It's also a great spot for a picnic.
