Oregon Fall Festivals

What are some fun fall festivals in Oregon?
From food festivals to authentic cultural festivals, Oregon knows how to throw a good fall party. Here are a few of our favorite fall festivals in Oregon that we think you should put on your to-do list:

  • West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta, Tualatin, OR: If you are looking for a fun and unique fall festival this one certainly takes the cake - or pie maybe. Imagine floating down the river in a giant carved-out pumpkin! That's right, participants carve out a giant several-hundred-pound pumpkin intending to paddle it down the river - not always successfully we might add. The event also includes pumpkin bowling, golf, pie-eating contests, and a giant pumpkin weigh-off.
  • Apple Butter Festival, Hillsboro, OR: Fall means apples and this fall festival is a celebration of sweet and tangy apple butter from Oregon Heritage Farms. Along with apple butter, the farm has some of the best homemade apple cider donuts, apple slashes, and fresh off-the-tree apples. With over 400 acres spread over four different farms, this is one big family operation. Come for the apple butter, stay for the live entertainment, hay rides, apple tastings, and a pumpkin patch.
  • Alpenfest, Joseph, OR: As the only Swiss-Bavarian cultural festival in the Western US, Oregon takes pride in this festive fall event. Joseph, a ton of barely 1,000 residents, is known as the Little Switzerland of Oregon. And the beautiful mountain views and green valleys are certainly reminiscent of the Swiss Alps. Since 1975 Alpenfest has been a lively celebration of food, dance, music, and maybe a German brew or two.

Most fall festivals have some pretty good food offerings, but these Oregon food festivals are centered around yummy treats and good eats.
