Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). Ever feel like everywhere you go is overrun with visitors and there aren’t enough places where you can get away from it all? Even at our massive state parks that have plenty of room to spread out, it can sometimes still feel a bit cramped, particularly on a busy weekend. Next time you’re looking to get out and explore uncharted territory, take a look at Pickett’s Mill Battlefield Historic Site near Dallas. It’s one of our favorite lesser-known historic sites in Georgia, with opportunities for nature lovers and history lovers alike. It doesn’t get nearly as much attention as many of our other historic sites, but it’s definitely worth a visit.
